Would you like to change the existing vacuum chamber and vacuum components to titanium alloy?
We have developed a technology that enables extremely low gas emission vacuum systems by using titanium alloys as materials for vacuum chambers and vacuum components. This allows for the rapid and easy attainment of ultra-high vacuum/vacuum levels. Titanium is inherently a suitable material for vacuum applications. It has many advantages, such as being lightweight, completely non-magnetic, having a low thermal expansion rate, and low thermal capacity. Our technology has added even more important characteristics for vacuum applications to this already excellent titanium material. - Through the development of surface treatment technology, we have been able to reduce gas emission by two to three orders of magnitude compared to stainless steel. This enables very fast evacuation to ultra-high vacuum levels. - The development of special titanium alloys has made it possible to create CF flanges, which are essential for ultra-high vacuum, with higher strength and hardness compared to stainless steel. - The development of manufacturing technology has made reliable welding and brazing of titanium, which was previously difficult, possible. This has enabled the production of various complex-shaped vacuum chambers and vacuum components.

basic information
■Our titanium chamber has gas release characteristics that are 1/100 to 1/1000 lower than stainless steel. ■Pumping down to ultra-high vacuum is easy and quick. It reaches ultra-high vacuum of 10^-8 EPa in just 10 hours. Baking at 150°C for 6 hours is sufficient. ■The density of titanium is about half that of stainless steel, allowing for a significant reduction in the weight of the vacuum system. ■The newly developed titanium alloy has strength not found in pure titanium, with 1.7 times the strength compared to stainless steel. This allows for a CF flange thickness reduction of about 30% (due to its lighter specific gravity), resulting in a weight of less than half that of stainless steel. Furthermore, this titanium alloy possesses a higher hardness than stainless steel, which was not achievable with pure titanium, enabling the machining of knife edges on CF flanges. ■The thermal expansion coefficient is 1/2 that of stainless steel and 1/3 that of aluminum, making it suitable for precision mechanical parts that are sensitive to temperature changes. ■When comparing the same volume, the heat capacity is about half that of stainless steel, allowing for quicker temperature rise and cooling, thus enabling time reduction and efficiency in baking processes. ■It is completely non-magnetic, making it suitable for use in analytical instruments and strong magnetic fields.
