The main applications are press molds, press mold components, and industrial machine parts. Recently, there has been an increase in the use of hardened material components such as SKD11 for wear-resistant parts like sliding surfaces. There are successful cases where parts that were traditionally made from materials like SS400 or S50C and treated with hard chrome plating have been changed to hardened SKD11 material, and further plated, resulting in product lifespans that exceed those of conventional methods.
