The Thickener is a sedimentation separation device that separates suspended solids (SS) in wastewater based on specific gravity differences. It is widely used in various fields, including solid-liquid separation of heavy metals, and is the most commonly used device for industrial wastewater treatment. The device feeds sludge into the central part for sedimentation separation. A rake is installed in the sedimentation tank to collect concentrated sludge, which is continuously and intermittently discharged by a pump. The clarified liquid is discharged from the overflow trough provided on the tank's peripheral wall.
