Even if the main line goes down, it switches to the backup line instantly, ensuring a highly reliable network.
The FRM220-OPS series provides redundancy for optical fibers on a per-channel basis. These units are suitable for protecting/ensuring any type of optical fiber data transmission, including CWDM and DWDM links. This solution includes monitoring capabilities for both active and protection path optical fibers. If the optical fiber is cut on the active path, traffic will switch to the protected path in less than 50ms (FRM220-OPS51) or 20ms (FRM220-OPS52). If both cards are placed in an FRM220 rack with SNMP management, monitoring is possible via SNMP management. Administrators can view the status/type/version of the converter cards, fiber link status, and alarms. The card module can be configured to enable/disable ports, reset, and set thresholds for switching timing.

basic information
■ Latch function. When power is lost, the switch retains its current state. ■ Switching time due to protection < 50 ms (FRM220-OPS51) ■ Switching time due to protection < 20 ms (FRM220-OPS52) ■ Compatible with wavelengths from 1 to 16 ■ Guarantees traffic with three switching methods: automatic switching, no switching, manual switching ■ RX threshold settings possible for switching ■ Optical I/F type: LC connector ■ The normal operation confirmation and protection line are physically separated fibers ■ Path switching at L1 level ■ Models available that support multi-mode (OM3) (FRM220-OPS51M)
