"D-1000" is a high-performance semi-metallic gasket rationally designed for high temperature and high pressure applications. It consists of a V-shaped cross-section metal hoop and sealing material (various fillers) layered together, tightly wound in a spiral shape, with the beginning and end portions of the hoop fixed by spot welding. Broadly speaking, there are three types: one with inner and outer rings of metal protection, one with only an outer ring of metal protection, and a basic type without any metal protection. Each type is selected based on the type and material of the flange.
