Since we have redundant power units at the shelf level, main CPU boards, shared memory boards, built-in LAN interfaces on the main CPU boards, and compact PCI bridge boards between shelves, we can build a highly available system. Each board supports hot-swapping, allowing for board replacement without turning off the power even while the system is running.
