In addition to the large-diameter steel pipe joints specified for the above-mentioned thermal power generation facilities, we can also accommodate seamless options for other power plants. Reheat steam pipes and turbine bypass pipes used in power plants are large-diameter (609.6 to 1016 mm) and have thin walls (approximately 20 to 40 mm). Traditionally, joints manufactured using a method called monaka, which involves shaping steel plates and welding them together, have been widely adopted. However, this requires regular inspections to evaluate the integrity of the longitudinal welds, which has been a factor in reducing operational efficiency. As a result, there is an increasing demand for seamless steel pipe joints that do not have longitudinal welds. Manufacturing large-diameter joints with thin walls is highly challenging due to the method of production, but at Benkan Kiko, we have achieved the production of large-diameter joints that meet customer specifications through our long-standing experience and skills in joint manufacturing.
