Detection of tool breakage in machine tools has become widespread with systems that physically detect whether the cutting edge is present. While systems targeting drills and taps have been applied in production environments, detecting blade breakage in metal saws is physically challenging, and detection methods using photoelectric tubes have issues with accuracy. This document presents research results where the judgment logic was implemented by customizing the standard software of the Conan-Desse waveform analysis device.
