Contec has developed a successor to the USB serial microconverter. The "COM-1C2-USB" will start accepting orders from June 5, 2025, while the "COM-1P2-USB" and "COM-1PD2-USB" will begin accepting orders from June 16 of the same year. 【Main Features】 ● Supports RS-232C serial communication at a maximum of 921,600 bps (COM-1C2-USB/COM-1P2-USB) ● Supports 1 channel of RS-422A/485 serial communication at a maximum of 921,600 bps (COM-1PD2-USB) ● Complies with USB 2.0/USB 1.1 standards, eliminating the need for external power through bus power operation ● Up to 127 converters can be added ● Equipped with 128-byte transmit and 384-byte receive buffer memory for each channel ● Adopts a 9-pin D-SUB connector that can be directly connected to modems and other devices (COM-1C2-USB/COM-1P2-USB) ● RS-232C/422A/485 control lines can be controlled and monitored via software ● Usable as a standard COM port on Windows/Linux* * Linux support is planned for the near future.

Contec has simultaneously released the Windows device driver group API-TOOL as a version officially compatible with Windows 11, enabling over 250 of our measurement, control, and communication devices to work with the latest OS, Windows 11. API-TOOL is a software development kit that includes device drivers compatible with more than 250 types of measurement, control, and communication devices. It is offered in an integrated form for various functions such as analog input/output, digital input/output, counters, and motion control, ensuring high compatibility at the API level regardless of the bus used, allowing for minimal code modifications when changing hardware configurations. It supports multi-platform compatibility, ensuring that development assets are not wasted. Additionally, a wealth of tools to assist developers is provided, including rich sample programs created in popular programming languages such as Visual Basic .NET, Visual C#, Visual C++, and Python, tutorials for beginners, an online help format API function reference, and convenient device diagnostic utilities.
