A compact hardness tester with an integrated impact sensor and display unit. It excels in portability and can directly display hardness values. Measurements can be taken in narrow spaces by inserting the tip. ■ Principle The impact body with a test chip strikes and rebounds from the surface of the specimen using the force of a spring. A voltage is generated by the interaction of a coil and a magnet built into the impact body. The voltage, which is proportional to the speed, is transmitted to the electronic mechanism and displayed digitally as the hardness value "L." The hardness value "L" is the quotient obtained by dividing the rebound speed of the impact body by the impact speed, multiplied by 1000.
