This is an introduction to a case of protecting gas transportation stations from cyber attacks!
The large-capacity natural gas pipeline has a high risk of explosion and extends over thousands of kilometers, necessitating the implementation of a secure monitoring and control system with high protection against cyber attacks such as phishing and targeted attacks. Therefore, Moxa's managed switches were introduced to connect gas analysis devices and PLCs to a remote SCADA system, and a secure VPN tunnel was established between the transport station and the central SCADA system using industrial VPN routers. As a result, gigabit bandwidth was achieved through copper/fiber combo ports.
