Compared to laser technology, electron beam metal 3D printers have a higher output of heat source and faster manufacturing speed, significantly reducing production time, which allows for cost reduction and shorter delivery times. Additionally, since electron beam metal 3D printers operate in high-temperature environments, post-processing heat treatment for stress relief is generally not required. Japan Additive Manufacturing for Metal Parts (JAMPT) was established in November 2017 by partners who wish to promote and spread metal 3D printer technology in Japan. JAMPT is a service bureau (SB) that can provide a seamless service from powder development and manufacturing to prototyping and mass production, making it the first of its kind in Japan in the field of metal 3D printing. With the pioneering presence of Koiwai Co., Ltd., academic backing and technical support from Professor Akihiko Chiba of Tohoku University (Institute of Metal Materials), and the global network and information power of Sojitz Corporation, we will demonstrate advanced capabilities in the field of metal 3D printing. As part of a super-smart society in manufacturing, we aim to stand at the forefront of metal 3D printer technology, consider AM technology in manufacturing settings, and overcome challenges together with our customers.
