Contract manufacturing of microbial ampoules: "Preservation ampoule production and microbial strain storage management."
For the long-term storage of useful microbial strains and standard test microbial strains / for deposit to microbial preservation institutions in patent and new species proposals / as a backup for microbial genetic resources.
This is a contract service for producing ampoules that can be stored long-term by sending microbial strains. 【Low Cost and Space Saving】 The storage ampoules are suitable for long-term preservation of microbial strains at low cost and with minimal space requirements. The ampoules are small glass tubes measuring 8 cm in length and 9 mm in diameter, taking up little storage space. They can be stored in a refrigerator (4°C), eliminating the need for freezing equipment like deep freezers. Since subculturing is not required, costs associated with media and maintenance work can be reduced. 【Stable Long-term Preservation】 We produce storage ampoules using the L-drying method, which excels in preservation and cost. The storage ampoules made by the L-drying method are adopted by deposit institutions for patented microbial strains as a method that meets the conditions for maintaining patented microbial strains during the 20-year patent period. 【Compliance with NPMD Standards】 The storage ampoules produced by our company conform to the standard sizes of the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NPMD), which is the deposit site for patented microbial strains in Japan. 【Backup for Useful Strain Loss】 We also offer storage services for ampoules. By distributing valuable microorganisms across multiple facilities and regions, we reduce the risk of loss of microbial strains due to disasters and other events.

basic information
【Acceptable Samples】 Bacteria, fungi, yeast 【Acceptable Forms and Required Amounts】 1 plate of cultured medium / 1 slant culture / 1 glycerol stock / 1 ampoule 【Quality Confirmation of Storage Ampoules】 〇 As a quality confirmation of the storage ampoules, we will deliver them after confirming the viability of the microbial strains in the prepared storage ampoules, the purity based on the characteristics of the colonies, and the identity of the microorganisms enclosed in the received samples and the prepared storage ampoules. 〇 The identity confirmation will be performed using MALDI-TOF MS method or DNA sequencing analysis. For bacteria and yeast excluding actinomycetes, the confirmation will be done using the MALDI-TOF MS method. For actinomycetes and fungi, confirmation will primarily be based on DNA sequencing analysis. 〇 To confirm the viability and purity of the prepared storage ampoules, a revival confirmation will be conducted. You can choose either "immediately after preparation" or "after storage at 37°C for 2 weeks." Since "storage at 37°C for 2 weeks" is considered equivalent to "storage at 5°C for approximately 10 to 20 years," conducting the revival confirmation after "storage at 37°C for 2 weeks" allows us to estimate the long-term storage viability.
