Lyfecycle is a masterbatch additive that modifies PE and PP to be biodegradable, using a unique technology that differs from oxidative degradation.
This is the world's first technology to biodegrade polyethylene and polypropylene in the natural environment. By simply adding 2% of a masterbatch to PE or PP, the entire resin biodegrades without leaving microplastics, thanks to our unique biotransformation technology. Since only 2% of the masterbatch is added, the original physical properties of PE and PP are almost maintained. Products molded with lyfecycle begin to decompose after the expected usage period and ultimately completely break down into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass. A significant feature is that it biodegrades without leaving microplastics. (Verified by a third-party organization based on BSI (British Standards Institution) [PAS 9017]) Lyfecycle has been confirmed to comply with the Food Sanitation Act positive list, FDA GRAS, and EU 10/2011.

basic information
●Features of lyfecycle □ Biodegradable without leaving microplastics □ Only 2% masterbatch addition, allowing use without compromising the properties of PE and PP □ Added PE and PP can be recycled as usual Biotransformation is a unique "timer-based" biodegradation technology. ●Mechanism of biodegradation by lyfecycle Lyfecycle is designed to begin decomposition after the expected usage period of the product (18 to 24 months). Once the expected period has passed in a natural environment with sunlight, air, and water, the decomposition of the molded product begins. The carbon bonds in PE and PP break down, leading to weathering and depolymerization, and through microbial decomposition, it is ultimately completely broken down into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass. Due to sufficient depolymerization during the weathering process, no microplastics are left behind.

Applications/Examples of results
Lyfecycle has been confirmed to be effective for various types of PP (homo, random, block) as well as LLDPE, LDPE, and bio-PE. (Please note that it may not be applicable if additives or fillers are included. For more details, please contact us.) In addition to being used as an additive in masterbatches, a technology for adding it to compounds has also been developed. Please consult us for more information. The final applications are primarily focused on disposable plastics such as "shopping bags," "disposable plastic cups," "bags for clothing packaging," "shrink film for logistics," and "bento containers."
