Partially harden. Optimal heat treatment with advanced technology.
Only the parts that require wear resistance can be hardened through surface hardening using electromagnetic induction. Due to rapid heating and rapid cooling, there is minimal oxidation and decarburization on the surface, and no thermal deformation occurs, resulting in excellent wear resistance. By changing the frequency, the depth of hardening can be adjusted, allowing for processing in a short time. Because very fast heating occurs, the know-how of skilled craftsmen is required. ● Heating coils suitable for the product shape are necessary. ● Detailed prior discussions will be conducted to perform heat treatment suitable for the material. ● Surface hardening allows the interior to remain as the original material while maintaining high toughness.

basic information
High-frequency heat treatment refers to a thermal treatment that is also known as "high-frequency quenching" or "induction heating quenching," which utilizes the phenomenon of electromagnetic induction. The current induced by electromagnetic induction generates Joule heat in the metal products, causing them to heat up. Because it involves direct heating, it has good thermal efficiency, and the depth of hardening from the surface can be adjusted according to the frequency. As a result, the center remains un-hardened while the surface improves in hardness, wear resistance, and high fatigue strength due to the distribution of compressive stress.

Applications/Examples of results
■Benefits of High-Frequency Heat Treatment ●Wear Resistance: Only the necessary parts or surfaces can be hardened through quenching. ●Fatigue Resistance: Since the center (inner part) is not hardened, a high fatigue strength is achieved due to the distribution of compressive stress.

Company information
Heat treatment deals with natural phenomena and imparts the desired functions to steel. Since we cannot change the natural phenomena themselves, the success of heat treatment relies entirely on what happens "before heat treatment." At Mutou Industries, we emphasize education based on "knowledge-based experience," demonstrating our capabilities in hypothesis formulation, proposal-making, and responsiveness. Headquarters and Factory: Yamato City, Kanagawa Prefecture Tokai Office: Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture Tohoku Office: Kitakami City, Iwate Prefecture Special Class Metal Heat Treatment Technicians: 2 First Class Metal Heat Treatment Technicians: 15 Second Class Metal Heat Treatment Technicians: 8 Third Class Metal Heat Treatment Technicians: 2 Second Class Metal Materials Testing Technicians: 2 (as of February 2024) We collaborate with processing partner companies to provide consistent support from machining to heat treatment. If you provide us with the drawings, we will ensure the quality after heat treatment in collaboration with the machining industry. We will enter into a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) as necessary.
