Helicoils, which are often incorporated into design specifications. By embedding them into the base material, they enhance thread strength and allow for repeated use!
"Helicoil" is the original "screw insert" that was born in the United States in the 1930s. Tangless thread inserts provide a permanent and wear-resistant screw thread, eliminating the need for cutting and extraction of tangs. They also come with a "screw lock" mechanism that prevents loosening under vibration or impact. One or more insert coils provide self-locking torque to the male component. Using tangless thread inserts ensures that no loose tangs remain, making it a solution for critical applications where foreign object debris (FOD) is not present. There is no need for cutting or retrieving tangs, and they can be easily adjusted or removed after installation. They reinforce the weakness of "thread profile weakness" found in plastics and aluminum in situations where lightweight and strength are required, such as in precision instruments and aerospace components. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
