FMC casting creates foam models that are identical in shape to the product using expanded polystyrene, and then produces the product by embedding the foam model in a sand mold and replacing it with molten metal. This process minimizes the occurrence of burrs and allows for the creation of complex and highly precise products. For small lots, cost reduction is possible compared to the wooden pattern method. Cost reduction is also achievable with original (steel substitute) materials.
