We would like to introduce a case study on waste reduction for manufacturers using magnets in products such as motor magnets. The company faced the challenge of wanting to dispose of unused magnets while aiming for zero emissions and seeking to recycle them in some form. As a solution, we proposed recycling them as roadbed materials or foaming suppressants. Foaming suppressants are materials used to suppress the foaming and expansion of slag in the steel industry’s converters. As a result, while the processing costs increased, the goal of zero emissions was achieved by recycling the materials in a different industry instead of disposing of them in landfills.
