A stopped-flow device optimal for steady-state and reaction kinetics studies!
The SX20 stop-flow device from Applied Photophysics is used to study the transient steady states of fast liquid-phase chemical and biochemical reactions initiated by the rapid mixing and stopping (stop-flow) of reactants. Spectroscopic probes such as absorbance and fluorescence are employed to observe the progress of the reaction by recording changes in the intensity of the spectral signal as a function of time. The general upper limit of reaction rates that can be measured using stop-flow spectroscopy is approximately 2000 s⁻¹. However, by utilizing the small volume cells adopted by the SX20, it becomes possible to measure reaction rates exceeding 3000 s⁻¹. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.*

Detailed information
-
**Overview** The SX20 is a clear market leader in the field of stopped-flow. Applied Photophysics supplies more than half of the stopped-flow analysis systems currently used worldwide, and these instruments have been used to produce over 2,000 academic papers to date.

[Light Source] The SX20 lamp house can be equipped with three types of lamps: an ozone-free 150W Xe lamp, an ozone-generating 150W Xe lamp, and an ozone-generating 150W Hg-Xe lamp. All lamps possess excellent stability and durability, meeting the stringent specifications set by Applied Photophysics.

[Cell Design] The dimensions of the standard 20μL cell are 10mm x 2mm x 1mm, and two optical path lengths of 10mm and 2mm can be selected for use. The optical windows are masked with black quartz. The optical path length can be switched by changing the position of the photomultiplier detector and light guide, and the working time for this is approximately 1 minute.
