Instead of software-based electron counting performed with existing DDD cameras, Apollo recognizes electron events on the sensor and executes electron counting, performing centroiding of each event with FPGA hardware. It generates super-resolution (67M pixels) frame data at 60 frames per second, which is used in motion correction and other downstream image processing processes for cryo-electron microscopy. Apollo's new approach to ultra-fast on-chip electron counting dramatically improves image quality and speed, enabling counting at beam brightness up to 10 times higher than the previous generation of DDD cameras and allowing for one-tenth of the exposure time. *For more details, please download the PDF (English version) or feel free to contact us.*
