The DE-64 is the world's first and only true 8k×8k direct detector, featuring the widest field of view among direct detectors. Ideal for very large virus cryo-EM and cellular tomography, the DE-64 offers user-adjustable full-frame streaming at up to 46 frames per second, providing unparalleled performance in electron counting. With nearly four times the number of particles in a single image, its vast 67.1 megapixel field of view significantly reduces the number of images needed for each single particle experiment, greatly improving CTF fitting and enhancing 3D reconstruction. The DE-64 is equipped with 6.5μm pixels optimized for excellent resolution (MTF) across a wide range of magnifications and exposure rates, and includes an integrated Faraday plate. The innovative movie mode processing software enhances data quality through drift correction, motion correction per particle, radiation damage correction, and post-acquisition exposure settings. This enables direct detection of primary electrons, achieving a truly innovative advancement in TEM data quality. [Modulation Transfer Function] The Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) is one of the most widely used scientific methods for describing optical performance. MTF measures contrast across all spatial frequencies. The DDD camera from Direct Electron has very high resolution and contrast, theoretically approaching or reaching the maximum value even as spatial frequency increases.
【Detective Quantum Efficiency (DQE)】 In the case of TEM cameras, DQE measures the combined effects of the detector's signal performance and noise performance. The DQE curve can be considered with resolution on the X-axis and relative signal-to-noise ratio on the Y-axis, with higher results being positive. The DE series demonstrates low noise and high resolution that are theoretically close to the maximum values in both counting mode and integration mode as the spatial frequency increases.
【Carbon Film Thon Ring】 The exceptional high-resolution performance of the DE series cameras from Direct Electron means that the camera is no longer a major limiting factor for TEM resolution.
