Ultrasonic flow meters can be used to measure the flow rate of liquids passing through a designated point in a pipe. Piezoelectric ceramic transducers generate ultrasonic waves to measure the flow rate of liquids in pipelines where direct contact with the liquid is a concern. As a measurement method that does not disturb the flow of liquid, the piezoelectric transducer is placed on the pipe wall, transmitting ultrasonic waves perpendicularly to the direction of flow into the liquid.
