The R-shaped polishing of the two-wheeled tank can be easily taught for automatic polishing with autonomous pressure correction.
FerRobotics AOK
Robotic automation of R-shaped components such as two-wheeled tanks and pipes, which are difficult to teach, with uniform force adjustment through high-speed autonomous correction of pressing force. Improvement of finishing quality and cycle time.
FerRobotics' Active Compliant Technology automatically corrects the "difference" in contact pressure (force) that occurs during polishing and grinding, which require skilled techniques, at high speed. This technology allows for consistent polishing/grinding at the set contact force, unaffected by variations in processing speed or gravitational load differences due to angles. With the end effector (ACF) utilizing ACT technology, it instantly adjusts to changes in the dimensional tolerances, curved shapes, and non-flat surfaces of the workpiece through rapid automatic correction of stroke extension and contraction, maintaining contact with the workpiece at the set force. This technology can increase the speed of the device or robot's trajectory, thereby enhancing processing speed and improving cycle time. Additionally, in robotic polishing and grinding, the ACF controls the contact pressure through the extension and contraction of its stroke, eliminating the need to move the heavy robot arm for corrections, which further assists in improving the processing speed of robotic polishing. Furthermore, since it automatically corrects the tool load affected by gravity changes due to the robot's angle, it maintains a uniform contact pressure from any angle, enabling a finish without processing inconsistencies.

Detailed information
-
FerRobotics Compliant Robot Technology GmbH has developed an end effector using ACT (Active Compliant Technology) that enables industrial robots to possess human-like tactile sensitivity in all surface treatment processes, such as polishing and grinding. This technology allows for the control of pressing force at any angle, ensuring stable, high-quality finishes even with complex shapes and dimensional variations, operating 24 hours a day. It is suitable for a wide range of materials, including iron, aluminum, titanium, magnesium, carbon, resin, wood, ceramics, stone, glass, and even coconut fiber, without being limited by the type of material. From large to small processing tasks, you can choose the appropriate product from a rich lineup based on your application and shape, accommodating small and complex shapes as well. In addition to polishing and grinding tasks, it contributes to processes that give robots the tactile sensitivity of human workers, such as handling, assembly, adhesion, and inspection.
