【Seismic reinforcement achievements available】 Carbon fiber material 'Kabokoma Strand Rod'
Kabokoma
A cutting-edge material that protects structures flexibly with high tensile strength and overwhelming lightness.
This is a carbon fiber (CFRP) material that can be used as reinforcement and suspension materials for structures such as buildings. With the excellent material properties of carbon fiber, it can enhance strength while minimizing the burden on structures. ■Features <Incredibly lightweight> The specific gravity is about 1/5 that of steel. The weight of the material is only 14 kg for 160 m (in the case of φ9.3 mm). <High tensile strength> The tensile strength is about 8 times that of steel bars of the same diameter. Although it looks slim, it is capable of pulling a large bus with just one strand. Cabocoma strand rods are being adopted as a new material for seismic reinforcement applications and design purposes in World Heritage sites, national treasures, designated cultural properties, and factory buildings. During construction, we have received many positive comments regarding its lightness and ease of handling on site. If you would like to see the actual product, we also offer free sample requests, so please feel free to contact us.

basic information
Delivered as a complete unit with the Cabocoma strand rod and end fittings (steel pipe + bolts). This is a JIS-compliant product established in 2019 (Standard Number JISA5571). < Cabocoma Strand Rod Body > ■ It is a material made by twisting together filaments of carbon fiber bundles (24K or 60K) impregnated with thermoplastic resin. The thermoplastic resin has the property of becoming soft at a specified temperature, making it excellent for processing. 【Lineup】 Carbon Fiber Bundle: 24K 2437 (φ9.3mm) and 2417 (φ7mm) - 2 types The filaments are woven into a cord-like shape and coated with fiberglass. Color: N90, N40 Carbon Fiber Bundle: 60K 6027 (φ9mm) and 6017 (φ6.3mm) - 2 types The filaments are exposed. Color: Carbon fiber color < End Fittings > ■ Steel pipe and bolts that comply with JIS standards. ■ The specifications for the fittings should be determined based on the design conditions of the structure (failure can occur due to bolt breakage, rod breakage, or rod pull-out). 【Lineup】 Material: Stainless steel or structural steel (hot-dip galvanized finish) For more details, please refer to the specification table in the catalog. Custom products can also be provided based on design requirements.
