TPI is a psychological test developed based on research from the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) and was uniquely completed in 1962 at the University of Tokyo using a questionnaire method. Under the leadership of Sadayasu Matsudaira, a new scale was constructed for the development of human resources among working adults. The Japan Human Resource Development Medical Science Research Institute has computerized it.
