"Mater-Bi" is a compound made from thermoplastic starch and PBAT (polybutylene adipate/terephthalate), which is hydrolyzed to lower molecular weight and then decomposed by microorganisms into water and carbon dioxide. It has a rich track record of adoption primarily in Europe, with world-class production capacity.
