"Mater-Bi" is a compound made from thermoplastic starch and PBAT (polybutylene adipate/terephthalate), which is hydrolyzed to lower molecular weight and then decomposed by microorganisms into water and carbon dioxide. It has a rich track record of adoption primarily in Europe, with world-class production capacity. "SBP101" is a transparent film/sheet made from biodegradable and biomass-based polylactic acid (PLA). As it is a non-stretched sheet, it can be processed through methods such as vacuum forming. It has cold resistance, is weakly acidic and compatible with skin, and offers CO2 reduction benefits compared to conventional petroleum-based general-purpose plastics.
