**Project Background**: Automatic ticket vending machines (TVMs) play a crucial role in transportation infrastructure. A major automatic ticket vending machine manufacturer in Mexico was looking for an edge computer to be installed in their subway ticket machines. This edge computer required sufficient computing performance to process data within the vending machines. **Solution**: Advantech's "ARK-3531" became the ideal solution for this automatic ticket vending machine application. The "ARK-3531" features a socket-type CPU design that can accommodate a 9th generation Intel Core processor with advanced computing performance. Additionally, it supports up to three storage devices (2x HDD/SSD; 1x SATA) for large local data storage. Furthermore, it allows for the installation of a Wi-Fi module in the M.2 slot, enabling seamless connection of the automatic ticket vending machine to the cloud, and it is equipped with a rich array of I/O, including 8x COM, 8x USB, HDMI, and VGA.
