The "C201R type" features a double eccentric (double off-center) design for the disk's drive axis, allowing the disk and seat to remain in non-contact until just before full closure, resulting in minimal wear on the seat and a long lifespan for this cast iron butterfly valve. The seat is designed with a centering feature on the contact surface, creating a self-sealing mechanism that generates contact pressure on the disk's sealing surface due to fluid pressure, enabling efficient sealing from vacuum to high pressure.
