What is important in the air leak testing process is the nature of the master that guarantees testing accuracy. There are two types of masters: good product masters and defective product masters, both of which must have an internal volume equivalent to that of the fluid products, and their air penetration structures must also be equivalent. (Since the differential pressure detection method is time-dependent) in this case, it is not particularly problematic for the good product master to simply prepare a workpiece that is completely leak-free. However, the defective product master is not so simple. It is often seen that lines use completely leaking workpieces as defective masters, but this is not the proper way to define a defective master. A defective master must consider the variability in detection accuracy and should have a leak that is just on the edge of being acceptable.
