In 2007, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare amended the Enforcement Order of the Industrial Safety and Health Act, classifying formaldehyde as a Class 2 substance and setting the guideline value for management concentration indoors at 0.08 ppm or lower. During the molding of polyoxymethylene (POM) resin, formaldehyde gas is generated, and the importance of monitoring formaldehyde gas concentration has been re-evaluated to ensure a safe working environment for workers.
