A polarizing plate is an important component of liquid crystal displays, and its main function is to allow only one specific direction of light to pass through while blocking or absorbing light vibrating in other directions. By controlling the polarization direction of light, liquid crystal displays can switch between light and dark by applying an external electric field. Depending on the characteristics of the polarizing plate, it can be used alone or in combination with various optical compensation films and surface treatments, enabling the display performance of liquid crystal displays to achieve higher contrast and viewing angles. When the transmission axes of the polarizing plates are parallel, the overlapping light can pass through. On the other hand, when the transmission axes of the polarizing plates are perpendicular, the overlapping light is blocked and cannot pass through.

A semi-transparent liquid crystal panel is attached to the back, and when external light is strong, the backlight turns off and utilizes reflection. When external light is weak, the backlight turns on and collects light. The semi-transparent type can be used in both dark and bright conditions.
