802.11ah compatible wireless module 'SX-SDMAH-R2'

Silex will be exhibiting at "Wireless Japan 2025," one of Japan's largest wireless communication events, held from May 28 (Wednesday) to May 30 (Friday) at Tokyo Big Sight, South Hall 3 and 4. We plan to showcase our 802.11ah (Wi-Fi HaLowTM) products, dynamic demonstrations, and participate in seminars. The technical certified rocket circle "CREATE" at Tokyo University of Science (formerly Tokyo Institute of Technology) has adopted Silex's 802.11ah products for rocket development. CREATE operates under the philosophy of "learning to make things fun." Since its establishment in 2008, it has aimed to nurture the next generation of engineers through experiences in space-related technology and rocket design, achieving numerous successful cases. In their current development of the "C-73J" rocket, they are taking on an unprecedented challenge: the mission of transmitting real-time video from the rocket to the ground. To tackle this challenge, they have adopted the latest wireless standard 802.11ah (Wi-Fi HaLow) provided by Silex to solve the issues of long-distance video transmission that were difficult with conventional wireless communication methods. This case study introduces the background and process of the rocket development project, as well as the expectations that students have for the 802.11ah standard.
