[Case Study] Challenging Real-Time Video Transmission from Rockets | Tokyo University of Science (formerly Tokyo Institute of Technology) Technical Official Circle CREATE

The technical certified rocket circle "CREATE" at Tokyo University of Science (formerly Tokyo Institute of Technology) has adopted Silex's 802.11ah products for rocket development.
CREATE operates under the philosophy of "learning to make things fun." Since its establishment in 2008, it has aimed to nurture the next generation of engineers through experiences in space-related technology and rocket design, achieving numerous successful cases. In their current development of the "C-73J" rocket, they are taking on an unprecedented challenge: the mission of transmitting real-time video from the rocket to the ground. To tackle this challenge, they have adopted the latest wireless standard 802.11ah (Wi-Fi HaLow) provided by Silex to solve the issues of long-distance video transmission that were difficult with conventional wireless communication methods.
This case study introduces the background and process of the rocket development project, as well as the expectations that students have for the 802.11ah standard.
