Development of an immunochromatographic kit using high-brightness fluorescent beads [Saitama University]
High-sensitivity antigen testing is possible with high-brightness fluorescent beads that do not exhibit concentration quenching.
○Overview of the Technology By incorporating aggregation-induced emission (AIE) fluorescent materials into resin beads, it is possible to manufacture highly bright fluorescent beads that were not achievable with conventional fluorescent materials. Using these fluorescent beads enables the development of immunochromatography kits with higher sensitivity than before. ○Comparison with Conventional Technology 【Influenza】 Achieved a sensitivity increase of 1000 times compared to test kits using gold colloids as labeling substances. 【Novel Coronavirus】 Achieved a sensitivity increase of approximately 20 to 40 times compared to currently available test kits on the market. ○Features of the Technology - Utilizes AIE compounds as fluorescent materials - Developed highly bright fluorescent beads without concentration quenching - Developed a background reduction sheet for fluorescent immunochromatography - Developed immunochromatography kits with higher sensitivity than conventional products - A handheld ultraviolet irradiator has been developed.
