Gypsum casting is a casting method using gypsum molds. It allows for beautiful casting surfaces and dimensional accuracy comparable to die-cast products. It has good transferability and can reproduce raised and recessed characters (such as part number displays and company logos with a φ0.3 tool). It is suitable for the production of prototypes, single items, and small lots, as well as for small quantities of various types. Since molds are not required, it can be provided with short lead times and low costs. It is well-suited for complex shapes, thin-walled, and hollow shapes that are difficult to manufacture with machining. The completed castings are dimensionally measured using a three-dimensional measuring machine to ensure quality assurance. Zero draft angles and undercuts can also be accommodated, which are characteristics of gypsum casting.

Gypsum casting is suitable for precision casting of lightweight metal materials such as aluminum and zinc. - Main corresponding materials: Aluminum alloys (AC2A, AC2B, AC4B, AC4C, AC7A, AC8A, etc.) Die-casting aluminum alloys (ADC12, ADC1, ADC6, wear-resistant alloy NH41) Zinc alloys (AZC1, AZC2, AZC3) High thermal conductivity aluminum alloys "HT-1" and "DMS series: DMS1, DMS3, DMS5, DMS6" - Dimensional accuracy: Equivalent to JIS B 0403 1995 casting tolerance grade CT5 (CT4 equivalent for dimensions under 25mm) Surface roughness according to JIS B 0601 2001 Ra 6.3a equivalent - Short delivery time + cost reduction: No molds are manufactured. Since the casting method involves creating molds from gypsum, the initial cost is several hundred thousand yen.
