Edmund Optics is expanding its lineup of chirped mirrors and high-dispersion mirrors that can be used with femtosecond laser light sources, including titanium sapphire, erbium-doped fiber, thulium (Tm), and holmium (Ho). These mirrors include options with low incidence angles for ultrashort pulse compression or those with larger incidence angles, such as 45°, for ultrashort pulse compression during beam propagation. If you require custom chirped mirrors or high-dispersion mirrors for your application, please contact us. ■ For more details, please visit the official Edmund Optics website via the link below.

basic information
The chirped mirror is a dispersion compensation mirror that has a chirped laser mirror coating deposited to compensate for pulse broadening that occurs when ultra-short pulse laser pulses propagate through an optical medium. The high dispersion mirror (HDM) has a high dispersion multilayer chirped coating deposited on it and is used for pulse compression and dispersion compensation within a resonator. Chirped mirrors and high dispersion mirrors are designed to increase the number of reflections between a pair of mirrors at low incident angles, or at larger incident angles for general beam steering applications. This ultra-short pulse mirror can be used instead of prisms or grating compressors, offering the advantage of building a more compact, alignment-free system. This allows for the compensation of GDD and third and higher order dispersion, enabling the output of shorter pulses.
