The spacing between each optical element can be adjusted using brass spacer rings that are manufactured with strict tolerance control. These spacer rings are painted black to prevent stray light from occurring inside the optical tube. This system, which can secure multiple optical elements within a single optical tube, is suitable not only for research and development but also for application in OEM projects. ■ For more details, please check the official website of Edmund Optics via the link below.

basic information
The SM tube system transforms a single lens design into a fully functional assembly part, providing excellent multifunctionality. By utilizing a black anodized main tube with an inner tube screw diameter that adopts either the SM1 mount (1.035” x 40 TPI; same as SM1 mount) or the SM05 mount (0.535” x 40 TPI; same as SM05 mount), it is possible to construct an optical system using optical elements with diameters of 1”/25mm or 1/2”/12.5mm.
