[Mitarepo] Tested whether the flame-retardant 3D printed model can withstand tapping and screw tightening! | System Create
"Mitarepo" is a series that introduces what can be done using various products with the concept of "I tried doing this!" In Vol. 76, we will create screw holes in the newly introduced flame-retardant resin model of the Form 3 series, and verify how much torque it can withstand. The newly added flame-retardant resin in the Form 3 series has obtained the highest grade UL94V-0 among commonly available products. Not only is it highly safe due to its self-extinguishing properties, but it also features fine surface precision and hardness, allowing for screw fastening! Therefore, this time, we actually cut M6 female threads into the model and challenged the limits of screw tightening. We will explain points such as, "Can we create screw holes neatly?" and "Will it break under tightening?" along with images of the actual model surface and the measurement results of tightening torque for three types of female threads.
