The conventional ball transfer has the drawback of being prone to rotation failure due to debris that gets inside. The "Plain Bear" features a distinctive structure where the support ball directly beneath the main ball does not bear any load, allowing for the creation of numerous debris discharge holes at the lowest point of the main body, which is prone to accumulating debris. This design enables the expulsion of debris and water that has entered during operation. (In the downward-facing configuration, it is discharged through the debris discharge slits.)
