We would like to introduce a processing case of "thin plate polishing" conducted at Aitec Co., Ltd. This case involves a Hastelloy (C-22) plate measuring 3×305×355, with a thickness tolerance of ±0.02mm and geometric tolerances for flatness and parallelism within 0.03mm. The processing was done through surface grinding, repeatedly polishing one side. Unlike conventional clamping methods, we used a different clamping technique to finish the reference surface, and then clamped the opposite side to prevent the workpiece from warping during finishing.
