The newly designed IOW centrifugal oil separator can significantly impact engine life, oil change intervals, and many other long-term benefits within the organization by efficiently removing more harmful contaminants from lubricating oil than any other pressure-driven centrifuge in the world. The patented IOW Group centrifugal oil separator comes standard with a sludge monitoring system (separator control unit) and features a unique bowl disk technology that was previously used in conventional large centrifuges. In a natural gas compression plant, there was a desire to improve the reliability and productivity of the Cooper Bessemer LS8G engine. In this gas compression plant, the oil temperature is 67.6°C and the oil pressure is 36 PSI (2.48 bar). The customer installed two IOW MP200 centrifugal oil separators. After 557 hours of operation, the maintenance personnel serviced the IOW MP200 centrifugal oil separator. When the collected sludge cake was removed, it weighed 819 grams. The customer is very satisfied with the performance of the IOW centrifugal oil separator and will soon realize the long-term benefits.
