Prevent slipping, create the future. A new technology for high-precision detection of slipping objects, developed in collaboration with the Kagawa Prefectural Industrial Technology Center: the slip detection sensor system.
In gripping (chuck) devices such as those used for fixed-size objects, if the object being held slips during transport, it can lead to a decrease in cutting precision and handling performance, resulting in defective products and troubles. Therefore, we have jointly developed a sensor system with the Kagawa Prefectural Industrial Technology Center to detect the slipping of the object being gripped with high precision. This sensor has a unique structure that combines a parallel spring and a detection element, allowing it to detect and measure slipping within the gripping surface of the chuck, regardless of the shape or size of the object being held. Additionally, it utilizes two types of detection elements: strain gauges and piezoelectric films, enabling it to respond to both static and dynamic slipping. It can detect slips of workpieces on the order of 0.1 mm and employs the technology from the pending patent JP2022-92993.
