By simply plugging it into an outlet, you can safely monitor and record the status of the AC power, including surges (voltage spikes), sags (voltage drops), impulses (instantaneous voltage fluctuations), frequency variations, phase angle, and power outages. Data analysis is performed on a computer, and the analyzed data can be displayed in graphic format or as a text file. Communication with the computer is done via an infrared optical sensor, ensuring complete electrical isolation from the AC power for safety. If the set alarm values (configured from the computer) are exceeded, a red LED will blink to indicate an abnormal condition (blinking can also be turned off).
