Epoxy glass pipes that meet diverse applications.
■Manufacturing Process of Epoxy Glass Pipes Epoxy glass pipes are manufactured using glass fiber reinforced plastic. The process begins by impregnating a cloth made of glass fibers with epoxy resin. The glass fibers coated with this resin are then dried to transform them into a material known as "resin paper." This resin paper is wrapped around a core (usually a cylindrical rod made of iron). After wrapping, it is placed in a mold and subjected to heat treatment. During this heating process, the epoxy resin cures, forming a pipe integrated with the glass fibers. Once cured, the core is removed, leaving the remaining part as the inner diameter of the pipe. The process can be likened to making taiyaki, where the core serves a role similar to that of chikuwa. The inner diameter of the pipe is determined by the dimensions of the core, but if the core is square, the inner diameter will also be square. By changing the size and shape of the core, it is possible to manufacture epoxy glass pipes of various sizes and shapes. This process results in pipes that combine the durability and lightweight properties of epoxy glass, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.

■Functions and Applications of Epoxy Glass Epoxy glass is a high-performance material that combines epoxy resin and glass fibers, possessing excellent mechanical strength and insulation properties. Additionally, it has heat resistance and chemical resistance, allowing it to perform well even in harsh environments. It is lightweight yet highly durable, ensuring stability in shape over long periods of use. As a result, epoxy glass is widely used as an important material in various fields, including electrical equipment, industrial components, and chemical facilities. ■Characteristics and Utilization of Epoxy Glass Pipes Epoxy glass pipes leverage the properties of epoxy glass, featuring a hollow interior that makes them lightweight and strong tubular materials. They have high electrical insulation performance and also possess heat and chemical resistance, making them valuable for use as piping and insulation parts. They are particularly suitable for use in harsh environments, demonstrating excellent performance in power infrastructure and chemical facilities. Epoxy glass pipes are resistant to corrosion and provide stable performance even in environments handling chemicals or at high temperatures.
