A method that serves as an intermediate between lost wax and sand casting using water glass! Achieving cost reduction and shortening delivery times.
Semi-lost (water glass type lost) is a manufacturing method that started in Russia and has been adopted in China for a long time. The difference from the lost wax process is that, during the mold formation, the binder used to harden the sand is not colloidal silica-based, but rather water glass. This allows for a reduction in cost and lead time. 【Overview】 ■ It is mainly produced using iron-based materials, specifically SCW450. ■ Dimensional accuracy, surface roughness, and the minimum thickness limit are lower compared to lost wax. ■ More complex shapes can be created than with sand casting, so when considering the rough machining costs from sand casting and the total, it can become attractive. ■ The biggest difference from lost wax is that it typically cannot cast stainless steel. *For more details, please download the PDF or contact us.
