Contec has added a BTO menu to pre-install Trellix Embedded Control, an allow-list type antivirus software from Trellix, on the FA computer "VPC-720 series" currently on sale, which runs the embedded OS "Microsoft Windows 10 IoT Enterprise." We plan to expand this offering to other series in the future.

The lifecycle suitable for long-term operation, along with features that enhance reliability and security, will lead your projects to success. ● Reduction of maintenance workload for long-term operation The LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) OS can be used in the same environment for up to 10 years. Windows Update includes only critical quality updates. Since feature updates are excluded, the need for re-evaluation with each update is minimized, reducing maintenance workload. Various features not found in standard Windows, such as restrictions on user operations and OS write actions, are included. In particular, the UWF (Unified Write Filter) light filter function significantly reduces writes to the disk by redirecting OS write actions to memory. Additionally, there are very useful features that help keep the OS in a proper state, which also contributes to extending the lifespan of SSDs that have a limited number of write cycles.

Contec has developed a high-performance FA computer designed for 24-hour continuous operation, compatible with Intel's 13th generation (Raptor Lake) Core processors, and will begin accepting orders for the "VPC-1800 series" (hereinafter referred to as the new product) starting in February 2025. The new product is an industrial computer for the factory automation (FA) sector, intended for 24-hour continuous operation in critical equipment control systems and manufacturing sites. It is the latest model in the VPC series, which has a strong track record of adoption since its launch in 2009. By incorporating the Intel Q670 chipset and high-speed, high-reliability DDR5 memory, it achieves high computational and rendering capabilities.
