Success case: Approximately 60% reduction in production time for keyway processing with a multitasking machine - HORN.
Reduced production time by approximately 60% with HORN's broaching process, and further reduced costs by about 41%. Introduction of a successful case study from a gear manufacturer.
We would like to introduce a successful case of broaching processing utilizing a multi-tasking machine at Kobara Gear Industry Co., Ltd. Kobara Gear Industry Co., Ltd. is a gear manufacturer established in Saitama Prefecture. The company faced various challenges, including the need to "produce a large number of products in a short time," "increased setup time," and "increased logistics management man-hours," which led to rising costs. This necessitated the overall efficiency improvement of the production process. To address these issues, Kobara Gear Industry Co., Ltd. introduced a multi-tasking machine and transitioned from a traditional process-segmented production method to a production method where broaching of keyways can be completed in one chucking. For the broaching of keyways, the company used our product, the "HORN broaching tool." As a result, the consolidation of processes was achieved, reducing the cycle time by approximately 60% and successfully cutting costs by 41%. HORN products can accommodate a wide range of machining, including keyways, hex holes, square holes, Torx, splines, and gears (special items). *For more details, please download the catalog or feel free to contact us.
