To achieve this, the "Dolphin Project" launched Japan's first EHR system in Miyazaki and Kumamoto in 2002. Furthermore, under the Next Generation Medical Infrastructure Act, the "Millennium Medical Record" was established in 2015. 【Lecture Overview】 The "Next Generation Medical Infrastructure Act," which came into effect on May 11, 2018, led to the certification of the Life Data Initiative (LDI) as a "Certified Anonymous Processed Medical Information Provider" on December 19, 2019. As of December 2024, the number of medical institutions connected to the Millennium Medical Record is 118, the number of unique registered patients is approximately 10 million, the number of registered patients available for secondary use is 2.67 million, there have been 46 instances of paid secondary use, and there are 15 publications in papers and conferences. Starting in fiscal 2024, research and development of the AI-based service "Co-Doc" has also begun under the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's research program.
