Novamid — The right nylon choice, PA6 or PA66, for reliable performance.
Novamid is a polyamide material portfolio offered by Envalior, providing both PA6 and PA66 grades as engineering plastics. PA6 is characterized by a well-balanced combination of mechanical properties and excellent processability, while PA66 offers superior heat resistance, high stiffness, and low creep, making it suitable for more demanding operating conditions. Novamid has a proven track record in fields where mass-production capability and reliability are essential, including automotive, electrical and electronic, and industrial applications. The portfolio includes a wide range of grades such as unreinforced, glass-fiber-reinforced, flame-retardant, impact-modified, and hydrolysis-resistant materials. This allows designers to select either PA6 or PA66 according to application temperature, load requirements, and cost targets. Novamid combines high design flexibility with stable mass-production performance and, in particular, responds to customer needs through finely tailored grade offerings, with a strong focus on the Japanese market.

basic information
Novamid is available in PA6 and PA66 grades, including unreinforced, glass-fiber-reinforced (GF15–50%), flame-retardant, impact-modified, and hydrolysis-resistant variants. PA6 grades offer tensile strength of approximately 60–80 MPa and a melting point of around 220 °C, providing good toughness and excellent processability. PA66 grades feature a higher melting point of approximately 260 °C and superior stiffness retention and low creep at elevated temperatures, making them suitable for high-temperature, load-bearing applications. Both PA6 and PA66 grades show good resistance to oils, fuels, coolants, and various chemicals. Hydrolysis-resistant grades maintain stable properties under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions. Novamid also provides excellent electrical insulation performance, with UL94 V-0 flame-retardant and CTI-rated grades available for electrical and electronic applications. Its good injection-molding processability ensures high dimensional accuracy and consistent quality in mass production.
